The Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company, L.L.C.’s marketing system is based on our least cost distribution model to efficiently service our customers from point of production to point of consumption.

Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company purchases product direct from import sources as well as maintaining U.S.A. based supply contracts, tolling arrangements and exchange agreements to ensure just in time seasonal delivery for our customers.

Between the various supply sources Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company purchases approximately 1,000,000 ST of DAP, MAP, GTSP, urea, ammonium nitrate, ammonia, and UAN annually.

Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company charters approximately 150 river barges and over 2,000 rail cars a year to transport product from point of production direct to customer facilities and to our system of privately managed river warehouses.

From our warehouse system, we service approximately 500 customer accounts by truck. Our warehouse shipments are approximately 500,000 s.t. per year which require over 20,000 semi dump trucks to make seasonal deliveries to our customers.

Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company’s marketing philosophy is one of innovation. We feel our job as suppliers is to offer sales programs that the market is seeking, as well as a full line of fertilizer products covering all three primary plant food groups, N, P, and K.

Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company’s one supplier/one phone call operational philosophy, gives Ben-Trei Fertilizer Company an advantage over most of its competitors. We have found dealers are looking for a mechanism to hedge their price/seasonal risk and guarantee on time supply. We utilize a combination of supply contracts and forward hedge contracts to create sales programs which allow our dealers to more efficiently manage their supply and price planning.

Bottom line, we remind ourselves everyday that we are in a commodity based business dealing with standard competitive products and the only way to truly differentiate yourself is through unique and creative customer service, and close observation of quality.
